Burj Khalifa station will be closed from 5pm on December 31 until 6am on January 1, 2021.

UAE: Authorities in Dubai have announced changes in metro timings in preparation for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations. Members of the public and metro users are asked to note that the Burj Khalifa station will be closed from 5pm on December 31 until 6am on January 1.

The Red Line will begin from 5am on Thursday, December 31 and be operational until 1am on Saturday, January 2 for a total of 44 hours.

The Green Line will begin operations from 5.30am on Thursday, December 31 until 1am on Saturday, January 2 for a period of 43.5 hours.

Trams, meanwhile, will be operational from 6am on December 31 until 1am on January 2.

This came as the Dubai Police announced its plan to organise and secure the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Downtown Dubai in cooperation with other departments and institutions.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, said that the event’s security committee is completely ready to secure the celebrations of New Year’s Eve this year, after conducting several meetings with different authorities and institutions.

A plan was set to secure all tourist areas and destinations while maintaining the traffic movement and the precautionary measures. He added that Dubai Police is using all of its artificial intelligence and equipment with maximum efforts on field to organize the event with the strategic partners.
