Dubai Residents Don’t Need GDRFA Approval to Fly Back
UAE GDRFA Approval: Dubai residents travelling back to the emirate will no longer need an approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), an Emirates Airline call center executive has said.
Khaleej Times also saw an email from the airline to a customer returning to Dubai, in which it said the approval was no longer needed for Dubai residence visa holders.
This went into effect from February 12, 2021. Previously, all Dubai residents needed a GDRFA approval to fly back to the Emirate.
When Khaleej Times dialed up the Emirates call center, an executive said that the only requirement for Dubai residents returning to the city is a negative Covid19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.
