Al Ansari Exchange becomes the UAE’s first exchange house to integrate UAE Pass
Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, has announced the successful integration of the ‘UAE Pass’ into its mobile app and online portal, making it the first exchange house in the UAE to incorporate the pioneering national digital identity platform into its Digital Channels. In line with this development, customers will now be able to take advantage of the UAE Pass’ unique instant authentication feature, which enables them to digitally complete their registration process and access all the features of the Al Ansari Exchange mobile app, without visiting any of its branches.
Mohammad Bitar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Al Ansari Exchange, said: “We are excited to be the first exchange house in the UAE to integrate the ‘UAE Pass’ into our digital channels, which we consider as a milestone in our journey towards digital transformation. This new state-of-the-art system is expected to enhance the experience of our new app users by providing them with a convenient and hassle-free way of completing the identity verification process without having to visit any of our branches. We are committed to keeping up with the trends in line with the UAE’s efforts towards building a sustainable digital future while we continue our endeavors to reinforce Al Ansari Exchange’s leadership in the remittance and foreign exchange sector.”
Integrating the ‘UAE Pass’ into Al Ansari Exchange’s system demonstrates the company’s key commitment towards digital transformation. Al Ansari Exchange App, for instance, has registered more than 125,000 transactions during the month of April, 2020, which accounts for a 14 per cent increase in mobile transactions and representing 9% of the company’s total remittances. The app is rated 4.7 stars on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and has been downloaded more than 500,000 times.
UAE Pass is the first national digital identity for citizens, residents and visitors enabling them to access many services across various sectors of the UAE and allowing them to digitally sign and authenticate documents. It also enables users to request a digital version of documents issued to them and to use the same to access services. UAE Pass was launched during GITEX Technology Week 2018 by the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Digital Authority and Smart Dubai to provide a unified digital identify solution for all service providers, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and accessibility.
The incorporation of digital documentation issued to UAE Pass users is part of the second phase of UAE Pass activation. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship is the first government entity to have included key documents in UAE Pass, including Emirates ID, passport for citizens and residence for non-citizens. The Central Bank has approved the use of the UAE Pass in making banking transactions.
